For the past 13 years or so, I have been building KickoffLabs. KickoffLabs is still alive and well, but I have decided to seek new opportunities.

I am open to part-time, consulting, full-time, etc. The most important thing is to work with great people on an exciting product.

I have been a developer for well over twenty years. During that time, I managed a large team (30 or so developers), worked in the trenches by myself, and did everything in between.

Areas I excel at and enjoy:

• Anything and everything Ruby on Rails related
• Building prototypes, teaching a new technology/platform, and showing what can be accomplished with your product.
• Mentoring new developers
• Scaling databases (Postgresql)
• Sidekiq - KickoffLabs was one of the first professional/enterprise customers, and we have processed many billions of jobs
• Elastic Search - Elastic can be used for much more than search. I have used it as an analytics/stats engine for many years now.
• Heroku - 13+ years of daily usage will teach you a thing or two about getting the most out of the product
• SaaS - not sure how to collect the best data, what you need to make informed decisions, what is just a waste of time?
